The social scenes in Kenya have been buzzing with the story of a young woman named SA Delilah Akinyi, also known as Adelle Omondi, who reportedly had her underwear stolen and lost KSh 56,000 after being drugged.

The female executive stated that the traumatic event occurred aboard a Mash Poa Bus, and she emphasized that she did not receive any assistance from the Coast General Hospital.
-
She mentioned that the bus company declined to provide her with information about her seatmate, which prevented her from seeking any assistance. This situation led a woman named Christine Wambua to recall a particular incident.

As per Wambua’s account, they supposedly got onto a bus heading from Kisumu to Kampala. During their journey, the driver pulled over at an unusual location where armed men with machetes assaulted them.

Wambua mentioned that in 2023, she got on a Mash Poa bus in Kisumu with the intention of traveling to Kampala. However, the driver chose to overload the vehicle at an isolated location called Sindindi.
“The attackers, armed with pangas, surprised us and took both our phones and money. Have neither of you nor any representative contacted those passengers who were on that bus?” she asked.
“I want a refund of my money for the bus I had booked from Kampala- Kisumu for which I won’t use after that ordeal. I had booked for return trip. Your numbers are not going through and you are not picking calls for those which are going through,” she added.
Wambua mentioned that they had disregarded her WhatsApp messages even though she requested them to tackle the issue urgently. This behavior is incorrect.
During a 2025 interview with

Wambua mentioned that she finally managed to get a response from them.
“My daugther and I haven’t boarded any bus since then, it was terrifying. Sad thing is regardless of how I looked at it, it appeared planned. The company is rogue,” she alleged.
“They offered a refund for the fare but nothing on the lost items. And that is after my friends taunted them.”
Kenyans react over the story:
Sophie Maseno:
“Wooiii pole sana. We bless God they did not hurt u. God spared ur lives. Poleni sana🙏”
Ogaad Charles:
“Christine Wambuaa pole sana my friend, this was total recklessness by the driver and the company must apologize and compensate passengers who were on board.”
Zahra Hassan:
“This must be an organized crime, why stop if it’s not the designated stages. The bus company must be held accountable for all that happened. Let them reach out to their customers and issue a statement and refund all goods lost.”
Dickson Mutembei:
I’m terribly sorry about what happened; that must have been an extremely distressing experience.
Paul SustainKe:
Christine Wambua, I’m sorry about what you went through, but if it’s Marsh, they don’t care about their passengers; they only care about profit.
Īmmaculatë Ken Kieke:
Amazingly poor customer service here!!! As customers, shouldn’t we deserve to be treated like HUMANS? This is really disappointing, and you must take responsibility for this negligence. Listen to your customers! Please improve.
