Islandwide Widespread Showers and Thunderstorms Predicted in Latest International Forecast (English)

Sri Lanka, April 23 — Most areas across the island will experience showers or thunderstorms starting after 1:00 p.m.

Significant rainfall exceeding 75 mm is expected in certain areas within the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva, Eastern, and Northern regions.

In the morning, showers or thunderstorms might take place in the Western Province as well as in the Galle, Matara, and Puttalam districts.

The general public is asked politely to implement sufficient preventive measures to reduce harm from brief local bursts of strong wind and thunderstorm-induced lightning.

Foggy conditions may occur in parts of the Central, Sabaragamuwa, and Uva provinces as well as in the Ampara district during the early hours of the day.
