This initiative was jointly rolled out by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah along with the Hajj Awareness Center through a public awareness drive. Their informational material urges travelers to steer clear of direct sun exposure, maintain adequate hydration levels, and frequently seek shelter in cooler areas or shade.
Additionally, the authorities have installed cooling measures at key locations such as the Grand Mosque. These features consist of shaded areas, misting fans, and chilled water dispensers. They also advise pilgrims to carry umbrellas and wear lightweight, loose-fitting garments. It’s important for travelers to be aware of symptoms indicating heat exhaustion, including lightheadedness and excessive perspiration.
Moreover, officials will distribute wearable heat monitors and install air-conditioned tents in crucial locations such as Mina and Arafat. Additionally, they have coated streets with a white cooling substance to reduce surface temperatures. Bottles of water and umbrellas will be handed out at designated aid stations when the heat peaks.
