The FCT Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board (FCT-MPWB) has finished conducting educational and preparatory sessions for the 2025 prospective pilgrims over the past weekend.
Mallam Kadiri Edah, who serves as the Director of the Board, communicated this information via Muhammad Lawal Aliyu, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) at FCT-MPWB, to journalists in Abuja on Wednesday. According to him, these training sessions have been carried out in groups and will culminate in a hands-on segment designed to adequately ready prospective pilgrims for their sacred voyage.
As stated by the Director, the concluding stage of the drill will occur on Saturday, the 26th, and Sunday, the 27th of April, at the FCT Permanent Hajj Camp situated in Bassan Jiwa, close to the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.
Mallam Edah disclosed that Islamic scholars have already been enlisted for this initiative, which will take place in seven different languages because of the multicultural composition of the FCT.
He mentioned that the exercises were conducted in stages, following tradition, to educate potential pilgrims about the rituals of Hajj, along with the updated regulations implemented for this year’s Hajj by both the Saudi authorities and the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).

The Director mentioned that the Board is proceeding according to plan for this year’s Hajj operations, with strategies outlined to guarantee that pilgrims carry out a satisfactory Hajj.
He pointed out that the Board effectively informed potential pilgrims about all procedures, with particular emphasis on the fresh guidelines implemented by the Saudi Arabian authorities for the 2025 Hajj, likely unknown territory for many of them.
He recommended that pilgrims planning to visit from the territory take part in every program arranged by the Board, designed to assist them in having a satisfactory Hajj experience.
Mallam Edah similarly encouraged registered potential pilgrims who have not returned their filled-out applications or provided their international passports to do so without delay, allowing the Board to expedite the preparation of their travel documentation.
He added that the Board has already commenced the visa procurement process for the intending pilgrims, secured suitable accommodation in Makkah, and selected reliable service providers to cater to the FCT contingent in Saudi Arabia this year.
