Twelve states have filed lawsuits against the Trump administration in the US Court of International Trade with the aim of halting their tariff policies, claiming these measures are illegal and have caused economic turmoil.
On Wednesday, twelve states initiated legal proceedings against U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration at the United States Court of International Trade located in New York.
The states aim to stop the federal government’s tariff policy, contending that it is illegal and has caused turmoil within the U.S. economy.
The legal case argued that the policy implemented by President Donald Trump has rendered national trade policy susceptible to his “caprices” instead of being guided by the proper use of statutory power.
The states named as plaintiffs in the legal case included Oregon, Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Maine, Minnesota, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, and Vermont.
