With a bold gesture indicating a fresh chapter of unwavering governance, President Bola Tinubu has issued a strong caution to those who threaten harmony, declaring “No more.”

The Chief of Military Forces has mandated a complete restructuring of Nigeria’s security systems due to an increase in violence across Borno, Benue, Plateau, and Kwara states.

During an intense two-hour gathering at the State House, Tinubu had a serious discussion with Nigeria’s leading military officials and was straightforward about the shocking assaults on civilians’ lives.

“The time has come to put an end to this,” the President asserted firmly, denouncing the horrific and pointless murders that have stunned the country.

The National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, who addressed reporters following the intense gathering, disclosed that the service chiefs presented all details—including casualties, devastation, and growing unrest.

He stated that the President countered with new, forceful instructions designed to stamp out the surge of terrorism affecting certain regions of the nation.

“President provided us with the opportunity to present our briefing once more. The session went on for quite some time. We updated him on the current developments,” Ribadu revealed.

Despite his recent work trips to Paris and London, Tinubu remained closely involved with the security situation, directing affairs from overseas, as stated by Ribadu.

“Despite being out there, he remained constantly connected, providing instructions and monitoring progress,” he stated.

The NSA highlighted that Tinubu expressed significant concern and appeared disturbed by the tragic incidents, particularly the recurrent assaults on innocent civilians.

“He stated, ‘No more’. We are striving to guarantee the restoration of peace and safety,” Ribadu recalled.

Ribadu also verified that the President had previously sent security leaders to the hotspot regions— Plateau, Benue, and Borno States —and obtained comprehensive reports on their assignments.

“We provided him with updates on recent events and reaffirmed our dedication. We followed his directives… We traveled to those specific three states,” he stated.

As part of a significant shift, Tinubu has instructed for enhanced cooperation with local administrations. The era of solely hierarchical approaches might be coming to an end.

“The problem of insecurity isn’t limited to higher levels; it also affects smaller units. We must collaborate with communities, local governments, and governors,” Ribadu emphasized.
