], April 23 (ANI): After the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam that claimed 26 lives, Jamil Maqsood, leader of
United Kashmir People’s National Party
, called on the international organisations to sanction Pakistan for “exporting terrorist organisations like Lashkar-e-Taiba and The Resistance Front.”
In a self-recorded video, Maqsood expressed his grief and offered condolences to the families affected by the attack on Tuesday.
“It is very unfortunate that Pakistan is still using terrorism, extremism and fundamentalism as its foreign policy tool and exporting terrorism into the region. We have been demanding continuously from the international community and organisations that are working as watchdogs for these issues,” Jamil Maqsood said.
“I condemn this heinous attack against innocent tourists. We demand that the United Nations Security Council, Financial Action Task Force and other institutions to sanction Pakistan for exporting terrorist organisations like LeT, TRF and others. All these terrorist organisations are getting the blessings of Pakistani security agencies, Pakistani government,” the

leader said.
The
Cabinet
Committee of Security (CCS), which met today, was briefed in detail on the terrorist attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir in which 25 Indians and one Nepali citizen were killed.
The CCS meeting, lasting more than two hours, was led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
At a dedicated press briefing, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri stated that the CCS strongly denounced the assault and conveyed heartfelt sympathies to the relatives of those who were tragically killed. He also voiced hope for the swift recuperation of the wounded individuals.
“Misri stated that the CCS received an extensive briefing regarding the terrorist assault on April 22, 2025, in Pahalgam, where 25 Indian nationals and one Nepalese citizen lost their lives. Additionally, several individuals suffered injuries as a result,” he explained.
The CCS opted for several measures aimed at sending a clear signal to Pakistan regarding its backing of terrorism across borders.
Misri stated that the Indus Waters Treaty from 1960 would now be put on hold immediately, and the integrated checkpoint at Attari will likewise be shut down without delay.
The Defence, Military, Naval, and Air Advisers at the Pakistani High Commission in New Delhi have been deemed persona non grata, and they must depart from India within one week.
He stated that the total strength of the High Commissions will decrease to 30 from the present number of 55 via additional cuts, with this adjustment set to take place by May 1, 2025.
The assault conducted by terrorists at Baisaran meadow in Pahalgam on Tuesday ranks among the most lethal incidents in the region since the 2019 Pulwama strike, where 40 CRPF personnel lost their lives. (ANI)
