And they had to dig approximately five feet deep until they caught sight of the edge of a blanket. From there, they realized that they had discovered Miss Guerra.

Richardson stated that because of the thick woodland, investigators “would never have located her if not for the digital evidence that was submitted to us.”

“We put in long hours around the clock, including early mornings and late nights, but we simply never surrendered,” Richardson went on to say.

After investigation Guerra’s disappearance, and discovering her body following witness interviews and evidence, law enforcement obtained an arrest warrant for Rosa.

When investigators searched their residence, they uncovered ‘odd and dubious’ behavior which led them to discover fraudulent papers belonging to Rosa.

These files allowed investigators to verify Rosa’s identity through Immigration and Customs Enforcement, uncovering that he had been residing in the country unlawfully.

ICE subsequently assumed responsibility for him, and as of April 18, he was being detained outside the state while officials prepare to transfer him back to Charles County, according to sheriff’s office statements.

Rosa’s uncle, Rolvin Eduardo Bererra Bererra, aged 37, was likewise taken into custody as an accomplice due to ‘the actions he undertook in Prince George’s County after [Guerra’s] killing.’

Richardson informed Fox 5 that although she felt relief at helping resolve the missing person’s case, finding the body was still an extremely painful development.

She has two young children with both a mother and a father. We informed them about the situation, and I believe they felt some sense of relief; however, at the same time, everyone recognized how tragic this whole event was. For us too, finding her brought forth feelings akin to relief, yet simultaneously, it was quite traumatizing for all involved in the investigation as well as deeply distressing,” she concluded.

Officials stated that Guerra’s family was prepared to search the region themselves over the Easter weekend. While this news was devastating, it provided some comfort to the family.

According to the report, her two children are presently residing with a relative.

Sheriff Troy Berry stated: “Although this did not turn out as we had all hoped, I am thankful for everyone who put in tremendous effort to locate Ms. Guerra.”

On behalf of the Charles County Sheriff’s Office, we extend our deepest sympathies to her entire family and circle of friends.

Guerra’s remains were transferred to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for an autopsy. The reason for her death has not been established yet.
