ISPON will start a countrywide recertification of safety officers and promote registration for non-members under the enforcement initiative, with consequences management to be implemented shortly.

“We plan to write to various companies requesting they send their safety officers to ensure compliance. In the near future, we’ll introduce measures to address violations from non-compliant parties,” he cautioned.

Additionally, Hon. Tunde Balogun, who serves as the Special Advisor to the Osun State Governor on Sanitation, emphasized the importance of maintaining a consistent safety culture and fostering closer cooperation between the government and safety experts. This collaboration aims to mitigate potential risks and enhance environmental health within the state.

“This represents a significant move towards maintaining safety protocols in Osun. Guided by Governor Ademola Adeleke’s direction, our focus remains on promoting health, safety, and environmental welfare. Thanks to the establishment of this ISPON office, safety experts can now receive their necessary training without leaving the state,” said Hon. Balogun.

He stated that the government was prepared to back the institute in its efforts related to public awareness initiatives, policy lobbying, and educational programs. He emphasized that cleanliness and security always go together.

He further stated, “The primary responsibility of every organization or business is adherence to legal requirements. We will support the government in formulating regulations concerning workplace health, safety, and environmental protection. This effort aims at educating stakeholders and ensuring conformity. After all, without established laws, there can be no question of wrongdoing.”
