Doda DC Vows to Condemn Any Force Behind the Pahalgam Terror Attack

Such attacks are perpetrated by individuals aiming to fracture our community and instigate division among us based on religious lines. The brutal manner in which this assault was executed is utterly deplorable.”

The Doda Deputy Commissioner stated that we maintained two minutes of silence for those who lost their lives yesterday. We will stand against any such power attempting to fracture our community or injure our citizens.

The security forces have initiated search operations to locate the terrorists involved. In response to the assault, safety measures have been intensified, and images from the vicinity depict empty thoroughfares in what is typically a vibrant tourist district.

On Wednesday, India declared several measures aimed at sending a firm message to Pakistan due to its backing of cross-border terrorism. The country stated that it would put the Indus Waters Treaty from 1960 on hold and immediately close the integrated checkpoint at Attari.

Following a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri addressed a dedicated press conference where he announced that Pakistanis would no longer be allowed to visit India under the SAARC visa exemption program.

The CCS meeting, lasting more than two hours, was presided over by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Defence, Military, Naval, and Air Advisers at the Pakistani High Commission in New Delhi have been deemed persona non grata, and they must depart from India within one week.

He mentioned that the total number of personnel at the High Commissions will decrease to 30 from the present 55 due to additional cuts, with this adjustment scheduled for completion by May 1, 2025.

“In light of the severity of this terrorist attack, the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) has approved the following actions: The Indus Waters Treaty from 1960 will be suspended immediately until Pakistan unequivocally renounces its backing of cross-border terrorism. Additionally, the integrated checkpoint at Attari will close right away. Individuals holding proper documentation must use this point to return across the border by May 1, 2025,” stated Misri.

“Pakistani citizens will not be allowed to travel to India under the SAARC visa exemption program. All previous SPES visas granted to Pakistani individuals are considered nullified. Individuals from Pakistan who are presently in India with an SPES visa must depart within 48 hours. Additionally, the Defense, Military, Naval, and Air Advisors at the Pakistani High Commission in New Delhi have been designated as persona non grata and must leave India within one week,” he stated.

He stated that India plans to withdraw its Defense, Navy, and Air Force advisers from the Indian High Commission in Islamabad. Misri announced that these positions at the respective high commissions have been terminated. (ANI)
