“Will support LG in improving situation here”: J-K Minister Javed Rana after cabinet meeting over Pahalgam attack

on Wednesday said that the Cabinet has condemned the Pahalgam terror attack and will support the Lieutenant Governor in improving the situation in the region.

Rana took part in the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister
Omar Abdullah
at his residence in Srinagar.

Speaking to the media, Rana said, “The cabinet has condemned this incident. It is a very sad incident. We share our condolences with the victims. As law and order come under LG, we will support in improving the situation here.”

“J-K has united for the first time. Moving beyond party, politics, religion and thinking, entire
Jammu and Kashmir
was closed today,” Rana asserted.

The attack, carried out by terrorists at Baisaran meadow in Pahalgam on Tuesday, is one of the deadliest in the Valley since the 2019 Pulwama strike in which 40 CRPF jawans were killed.

The President of Apni Party J-K, Altaf Bukhari, described the assault as “an act of human slaughter.”

Bukhari stated that those opposing peace would not rejoice at seeing tranquility in Jammu & Kashmir. He emphasized learning from this incident, noting that animals do not adhere to any faith.

He has also requested a multi-party conference on April 24 following the Pahalgam terrorist incident in the region.

According to the invitation letter issued by Chief Minister Abdullah, the meeting has been scheduled for 3 PM at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Convention Center (SKICC) in Srinagar.

(J-K) The government announced an ex gratia payment of Rs 10 lakh for the families of the deceased victims and Rs 2 lakh for individuals with severe injuries.

“The loss of loved ones cannot be measured in monetary terms, yet as a gesture of support and unity, the J&K government has declared an ex gratia payment of Rs 10 lakh per family for those who have lost their lives, Rs 2 lakh for individuals severely wounded, and Rs 1 lakh for those with slight injuries,” stated the J&K Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) in a tweet posted on X on Wednesday.

On Wednesday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah went to the Government Medical College (GMC) in Anantnag to visit and comfort those hurt in the Pahalgam terrorist incident, an event that resulted in numerous fatalities and injuries. (ANI)
